Freedom
I reach the stars,
I reach the sky,
I feel myself flying,
Oh sweet freedom I sigh.
Touching the clouds,
With my fingers wide,
Embracing the world,
with open eyes.
Singing my song,
To my own special beat,
Spreading my words,
My hope to the streets.
Spreading my wings,
I know, impossible,
In my mind,
I am unstoppable.
With no judgment.
No hatred or depression,
I will fly without thought,
No confusion, no question.
I will race the earth,
With my feet touching the ground,
I will take off,
And forever be sky bound.
Bound to the love that God creates,
Bound not to the weight of my past mistakes,
Bound to beauty which flowers bloom,
Bound not to hatred that evil dues,
Bound to my life that only death can take,
Bound to faith believers make,
Bound to the precious golden gate,
Which my freedom long last awaits.
I think no thought,
I see the light,
That pulls me in,
each day and night.
The wind whispering its words,
Blowing my hair,
Entering my nose,
As I breathe fresh air.
Oh my sweet freedom,
There’s nothing like you,
If you were me,
You would see it too.
For one day we will meet,
Your heavenly presence I do seek,
Your everlasting love and your unbiased eyes,
Will keep me protected from the world’s heavy lies,
Forever I will live in the skies.
Oh sweet freedom I sigh.

I have always associated freedom with flying, and at this moment, when writing this, I was truly able to express my thoughts. As a teen, right now, I don't quite know what freedom feels like. I know that I will get a taste of it in college, but after college and school, are we truly free, unless you go into a career that you truly love.
