Precious. Lord. Take. My. Hand.
Don’t let me fall
When I have no choice but to get on my knees
And bow before Your feet
Don’t let me fall
When hurricanes bombard my life with debris that takes years to recover from
Don’t let me fall
When the devil is playing tug-of-war with my soul trying to steal away my hope
But I won’t let him have the audacity to steer me through a much darker route
No one could possibly tell that I’m drowning in this dark bright sea
Don’t let me fall
When the naysayers and haters
Proclaim the lies and manipulative insults trying to break my dignity
Trying to make me seem like the false foolish fool that rushes in where angels are afraid to enter
Don’t let me fall
When mother says no, no, no and disregards my feelings and disposition on life
Don’t let me fall
By the side of the road filled with unwanted demons who seek fatal implications upon my life,
Trying to make me fall in a ditch that could swallow me up like a sinkhole throwing darkness and fear into my spirit
Don’t let me fall
I shall try harder and harder to abide by Your commandments
O’Lord forgive me for my trespasses and those who trespass against me
For I know Lord that You know not the meaning of “half-step”
Don’t let me fall
When I’m pushing to forgive those who have sought and inflicted pain upon my heart
The heart that beeps with life inside of me that
I must protect from the evils of this complicated world
Don’t let me down
When the walls of the room where I call home
Began to descend from pink to black,
Portraying the act of happiness to sadness in a slow jet pace
Don’t let me down
When the girl in the mirror peers out of those dark brown eyes
To say “You’re becoming weak”
But I know I must toughen up and put the unusual usual smile on this benevolent,
Gorgeous face that You have bestowed upon me O’Lord
Don’t let me down
Because if You do, my spirit would be the bitter taste of an orange skittle
Because if You do, I would be the taste of spoiled milk,
Because if You do, I would be like a loud, chiming alarm wanting to be turned off
Because if You do, I would be the feel of rough sandpaper,
Dull and raggedy
Because if You do I would be the keen smell of mildew
Because if You do I would be the unholy yet holy sight of sin and misery
Don’t let me down O’Lord
Don’t. Let. Me. Down.
You are the light before my path
You. Are. My. Life.
Please.
Don’t. Let. Me. Fall. O’Lord.
