"If you were lucky enough to be born different, don't ever change." - Taylor Swift

Music is to the soul,

What medicine is to the body,

Love is to the heart,

And knowledge is to the mind

Hand-clapping,

Foot-Stomping,

Desk banging,

Are all signs of life,

Of youth and character

Music is the art,

Of unique expression,

Of intense feelings,

Better exposed through rhythm,

Frequency, and lyrical poetry

Music is the gate to imagination,

To stories passed down through generations,

But most importantly,

It is a universal language,

That any human can understand

The deaf can feel it,

Through soundwaves,

Pulsating through the body,

The poor and hurt can listen,

And enter a time portal,

Back to better days of hope and joy

No talent is needed,

To create it,

Grab a pencil,

A cup or a pan,

And use your soul,

Guide the music from within

For some, music is passion,

A way of life,

For others, a free therapist,

An album book of memories,

The moment of bravery,

Or a much needed vacation

Without music,

Movies would be nothing,

Dancing would seem pointless,

And life itself,

Would be dull

Music is even power,

Power over emotions,

On a bad day,

Turn on your favorite song,

Do you feel it?,

That immediate emotional change?,

Monarchs are nothing to music

Never take music for granted,

Listen to it with your soul,

Let it give you life,

And never stop creating it.

The author's comments:

I have always wanted to write a poem about music. My life has always been brightened by music. It has healed me on my bad days and brought me happiness when random people would start uniting together and just simply giving ordinary sounds rhythm and life. Music is everywhere I go and in almost every happy moment that I experience. Sometimes I take it for granted, but I wanted to write this poem to show my appreciation for it and to tell about the unique powers it has.
