Growing Up
Growing up teaches us
That we want to turn back the clock
When we were little,
We whined and groaned
That we wanted to be grown-ups
We wanted to be a racecar driver and get behind the wheel to drive on the highway
We wanted to be a chef and pick up the spoon to cook a delicious lasagna
We wanted to get in the car and go to work
We wanted to get up and go to school
We wanted to sit at the grown ups table
But now look at us
A hot stress mess
Now we are older
Now we are moving like robots doing the same routine every day
We want to turn back the clock
We want to smell the delicious lasagna our parents are cooking
We want nap time
We want to play lava floor
We want milk bubbles
We want to build forts
We want to turn back time!
