Darkness and Light
Darkness
Darkness is what you feel at 2am when your parents are asleep and you have no one to talk to as the tears drip silently down your face. Slowly you feel yourself slipping,
Darkness is what happens when you don’t eat for days on end and if you do eat, you throw up as soon as possible.
Darkness is what you feel when you put the blade to your skin and cut knowing how much you’re hurting other people.
Light.
Light is what happens when you finally put down the blade for the last time and never pick it up again,
Light is what happens when you finally receive the help you’ve needed for years.
Light, for me, is what I felt when I got help
Light, for me, is when I finally started seeing a therapist.
Light, for me, is having people supporting me, and caring about me
Light, for me, is finally feeling better..
Maybe someday we can all find this “Light”, but for now, just hold on, breathe, and be patient.
Better things are coming.
But, you have to be here to see it.
