Reach
Oh death, oh death
I would bid you farewell
The day you took her
Under your shell.
I wish, I wish
She had not gone
Because now, oh now
My life has no song.
I’d stretch my hand,
I’d reach it back.
I’d say “Please, Oh no!
How dare you take that”.
I’d change her mind,
I’d say, “Give it some time”,
I’d say ,“Please don’t break this heart of mine”.
Oh death, oh death,
You wait and see.
I’ll go back to that January and change what I want it to be.
So maybe, just maybe, everything will be all right
But for now, right now, I’ll just say goodnight.
