Dandelion
A weed
That’s what I am
I wait
That's what I do
I patiently stand by until my next root is to be torn out of the ground
Until I am distorted
and have returned to dust
Until the torrent of rainfall
bombardment of blizzards
onslaught of hail
blasting wave of heat
has wilted me instead of strengthened
Until I have been tortured
With poison and pain
Until the final root
the last of me
has been ripped out of existence
I expect
That's what I pursue
I am more
That's what I believe
But to all judgements
I am less
Dandelion

For a class assignment in school, we had to choose a picture and write a poem based off of what that photo made us think of. My group and I had chosen the picture shown, which is one that I had taken a while back. I hope you enjoy!
