I look up at the graceful horizon
Pinks and purples paint the evening sky
I wonder, how can life be this marvelous?
I think about all the pain and misery that I’ve suffered from. All the hurt that I’ve felt. Everything. It’s Gone.
The dirty creek water splashes onto my rock beside me making me jerk away from my thoughts.
In the creek water there’s blurry brown rocks lingering in the tears of mother nature.
As I sit on top of a enormous pine-tree mountain I look out into the distance and see myself in the baby blue sky,
Peaceful and joyful,
This is where I belong,
In the peaceful paradise found in Idaho.
I grasp all my thoughts again and realize I am not there anymore,
I lay on my plush white sheets with little stitches of different patterns in my bedroom,
Holding up the crumpled up colored photographs that hold the memories of who I am.
Who am I?
Where do I belong?
Back to where I belong.
Led Zeppelin's Stairway to Heaven comes on the vintage radio,
Soothing my mind,
Making me realize I am where I belong,
In paradise,
With my loving father.
Back again.
I sit up,
The aroma of the lilac scented candle smothers me.
My phone rings,
It’s my dad.
I take a deep breath and answer.
He says,
“You belong here, with me.”
