Forgotten Seashell
The soothing sound of the leisurely, steady, waves coming up
To the shore, that’s when you know you’re doing okay.
Your life is finally taking your side, and
Being good to you. Other days can be defective, a
stormy night, rough high tides, fiercely collapsing
Against the eroded rocks and tender sand.
Those are the nights you may be hurting, weak, or Maybe you miss that special someone,
Who isn’t so special anymore.
"But there are plenty of fish in the sea," they say, “That swim.”
They were right, they do swim.
In and out of lives,
In and out of memories
And go elsewhere. Leaving your life,
Leaving behind those memories like the seashells
on the shore. Maybe for good,
but that isn’t always a bad thing
For they say everything lost
is meant to be found
Much like the shallow shoreline, everything is
Clear, easy to read, other days are deep and dark as
The depth of the ocean,
and you don’t know what you’re going to get.
Life throws many tides at you,
Sometimes you just have to jump on
A boat and cruise, let life do what it does,
Because in the end you’ll always end up
where you’re suppose to be.
