Simple Swing
Walking along the trail
I've passed along a million times over,
it takes me back to simpler time
when my only care
was how high into the clouds I could swing
and when I'd see my friends again.
Now I am left
with overwhelming thoughts and
A wish for
A little
Less.

My inspiration for this poem was a very familiar walking path near the elementary school
I attended as a child. With this poem I was trying to show the reflection upon life now by familiarizing the audience and making them aware that the path is known very well by the narrator. I also was trying to exemplify the yearning for the simplicity of childhood.
