The battery in my flashlight continued to
die.
Off.
On.
Dirt brightened
Her face dimmed
Off.
On.
Green was surrounded by
White
Off.
On.
Her eyes are beautiful
Off.
On.
Her eyes held fresh tears
My hand outstretched
Eyes questioning
Soon enough our hands connected.
I helped her up
we walked back
'home’
