Soul Mates
When we first met, you were a blonde, and I fell in love at first sight.
You must have thought I was pathetic, how I constantly followed you
I always wanted to be by your side, I still do.
~
The wind ran through your Sun like hair
And I swear the skies were reflected in your eyes.
The flowers that spring were speckled with pinks and blues.
~
Your beauty though did not compare to those.
And in that moment, that I saw you upon the pedestal.
The one that I had placed you so highly, I confessed my love.
~
So, full of passion was I, I gazed at you in that fever
Then to my dismay you turned from me
For you did not feel the same
~
The next time we met you were a brunette and things were different
Somehow I knew it was you and I wondered if it was you
Making up for the events of the past life.
~
For we had met at the same college just in a different time
And it was a late December that you confessed your love.
The world became a wonderland and my heart did soar.
~
However, as it came to be a sickness fell over the land
And suddenly you were gone, taken from me
I was left alone.
~
The skies darkened and the winds screamed.
I wanted to join you that night
But something stopped me
~
The time after you were a red head. Oh, the adventures we had.
With all my terrible ideas, you still followed me
Through thick and thin
~
You kept me safe
I wondered if you were making up
For leaving me so suddenly before
~
Our love was complicated then. As you loved me on and off
Everything was like fire with you
In your eyes the world melted
~
Next your hair was raven like. God, you were stunning.
The world then was bright as were the nights
And everything was passion with you
~
Do you remember my dear, the night we got caught in the rain?
And you pulled me close, there was this spark in your eye
It was then that I knew it was you
~
And after a while of constantly meeting you I stopped
Wondering if the color of your hair meant anything
Instead I relished the moments we had together
~
No matter what lifetime we enter I will look for you.
I love falling in love with you again and again
Because we are just meant to be
~
I hate when we don’t meet at all
I am alone then.
I would rather be your enemy
~
You know that eventually I will surrender to you
Because I am yours and you are mine
That will never change
~
And it only makes sense that I should follow you
Because you burn brighter than the sun
So, I’ll chase you
~
I love when we grow up together
You’ll share everything with me
Your sorrow, your little delights
~
It’s interesting when we meet as adults
You’re always so suspicious of me, but eventually you open up
Because you and I are so much more than lovers
~
We are best friends
We are brothers
We are sisters
We are enemies
We are partners
We are Soul Mates
