The Weight
When the light of morning hits,
The urge to consume does as well
Should I eat? Should I starve? Can I wait?
The measurement of my waist is worrisome.
But the food in the fridge looks delectable
But hanging over the toilet later? Not so much.
We hide our eating,
With baggy clothes and makeup,
To hide the swollen eyes, and the bloated tummies.
The stretch marks, and the shaky hands
But sometimes, you have to look at the bad, The nasty
The sagging skin, the eroded teeth, smelly breath and our exposed collarbone.
It’s not worth it, the health issues, the pity thrown your way
We need to realize that
The Weight Doesn’t Matter
