Figure Skating
Just one step.
That’s all it took for me to fall in love with the ice.
My blades carrying beneath me,
Like light feathers gliding through the air.
Push after push
My world slowly came to a stop.
I was so calm.
So peaceful.
The frigid air sends shivers up my body.
I continue in circles,
Lifting my feet of the ice
Like a bird spreading its wings ready to fly.
The crisp smell of fresh ice makes me feel at home.
As I twirled around once more all I could do was smile.
