Empty
I found him lying on the floor
His eyes were black and solid
His body was stiff and still
Yet inside it was crumbling to pieces
Like an ancient ruin
That once had purpose
But now was forever lost
I tried to fit the broken pieces back together
I tried to make his eyes more clear
And after a long time I pried them open
He turned his head as fluid came running down his face
And for a short second I held onto the light that had shined from within him
Before it soon flickered out
Suddenly he got up
And left
And I stood standing there
Wondering who was going to fix the broken pieces that now ran through my body
