the tale of the serial thief

She can recall the sky,
Dark and teeming with mystery--
An opaque, eternal darkness lit only by the light of lanterns.
A buzz flooded through all,
Laughter and blissful numbness,
And the gazes follow from the ground to the heavens
As the sky roars and illuminates with numerous spheres of fire.

She waves goodbye to the sky.
Au revoir, moon; auf wiedersehen, stars.
While making their way to the home’s foundation,
She laughs with the others.
Overflowing with joy and glee, she winds down--
For now, she wills to sleep while the stars awaken.
She knows nothing about the turmoil to come.

She was ready to kiss the sky goodnight when He came down.
He arrived at the foundation with others, carrying the golden elixir.
Then, she chose to thrive with the stars,
And to sleep only when the moon slumbers and the sun awakens.
Her friend joined in her demonstration,
For tonight, They all would celebrate their freedom.
But the girls didn’t know that that very freedom would be stripped from them.

She soon was looking through the clouds.
The girls laughed and celebrated with Him,
But happiness turned to apprehension, for
He was receiving wavelengths all too different from the ones
That the girls were disbursing.
The girls continued their blissful numbness--
Unaware of the soul that He has inside.

She and her friend soon discovered His wicked soul.
The girls awoke with the sun that day,
Each with $5 in Their possession,
But that night after the twilight, Their $5 had been stolen.
This villainous man with the abominable soul became a serial thief that night.
He did not ask the girls if he could have Their $5, and yet he took it from Them.
They did not say the $5 was His to take, yet he stuck his hands in Their purses and stole the cash.

The serial thief became $10 richer that night.
But for the girls, the snowball effect took control of Their lives.
This thievery that took place went unacknowledged,
Yet His life continues on.
As His $10 investment allows His life to advance,
The girls-- now broke-- must find a way to make ends meet,
And everyday, They can recall this night sky.

The day that the girls celebrated Their independence
Was the very same day that He dispossessed Them of Their freedom.
