What He Once Told Me
I don't remember his name.
It was a long long time ago.
But I remember
What he once told me.
He told me not to worry
He had once been in my shoes.
He had faced the same dilemmas.
I had once asked him,
“Do you ever wish
That you had done it differently?”
He acknowledged frankly,
“Sometimes”
I told him my concerns
I told him my worries
And I told him my fears
He had once had them too
The last thing he said to me,
Was that he was not sorry
Because sometimes in life,
There are no wrong choices
Although I waited
I never saw him again
But I remember
What he once told me
