Lights of LIfe
We look up at the sky
See a starry night,
And
We know that there's nothing
No flickers of light,
And
No lamps
No bulbs
Just the night sky.
A motionless black hole,
With
Nothing being sucked up,
But
Silver studded stars
And
Time.
We look to our left,
To our right,
And
Nothing is there,
But
Well ...
Nothing.
World,
Oh world,
What have we done?
I see the stars,
And the moon,
But
Where is the
Sun?
Did we do this?
How do we make it right?
All we wanted was just ...
To shed a little light
On
The subject.
Oh mother nature,
It is not in our nature,
To forever scar our stature
It would change humanity's nomenclature
All of the animal's horrible slander
Oh look!
The killers of nature.
We are unaware of what is going on here
How we are too worried about losing things
We're too worried about our fear
We aren't even noticing what we are doing to the other
Living things
On this Earth
That's heart is slowing beating
And it's brain slowly dying
It's body surely frying
Because of global warming.
How did I go from talking about
Light to death?
How did humans go from help
To destroy?
We don't know what to do
To help you Earth
And I believe I speak for you
When I say this
There's nothing we can do
Because what has already happened
Cannot be undone.
I am sorry
And I know many others aren't.
For our attention may drift,
From one thought to another,
But I will not forget you,
Earth's
Own
Dying
Nature
Mother.

I saw a picture when it was dark outside. One light at the end of ourdriveway. Every house was seemingly empty. No lights except for the one at the ed of our driveway. I took a picture up close it that one light. I built off of it and improvised as I went, branching off into bigger, better, deeper ideas.
