Monster Outside
I never knew my fear before
I never saw its true form
I was afraid of monsters when I was ten
but I never knew the one
lurking outside
as I grew
I face it at times
It draws you in with kindness
then pounds you with confusion
it leaves you lying on the floor, alone and scared,
wondering
if you can ever escape the nightmare
that it condones but
as the days go by I start to train
for the beast lurking outside
its Beady little eyes try to Pierce my mind
as I try to hide
even when I train I know in my brain
that I can never beat the monster outside
