The Journey
I pack my bags tightly, stuffing them as much as I can,
I swing my bag to my back, pull on my black sneakers,
And commence this journey.
I move swiftly, carefully avoiding the small puddles,
Looking deeply down the covered path,
Painted in oranges, reds, yellows, browns.
Crunching beneath every step,
Slowly leaving behind a newly beaten path.
I pause slightly between steps to taken in all of natures beauty.
The deer running gracefully around the bare trees,
The squirrels scurrying and leaping across branches,
The rabbits hoping on the colorful leaves,
These small moments, help me to appreciate even the littlest things in life.
