Polaroid
A picture means a thousand words”
Which works out for me
(I’m not the most eloquent
as I’m sure you’ll soon see)
I mumble too much
and sometimes may stutter,
But with a camera in hand
my imagination will flutter
It’s current, it’s present
It’s real, it’s unique
A picture has meaning
that can spark a stampede
It may seem stagnant,
unfeeling or cold
But I assure you,
many are hidden treasures of gold
They display subtle feelings,
of hope, wistfulness, even devastation
of happiness, or accomplishment, all so powerful,
they’ve rocked entire nations
If you feel unheard, unloved,
or unnoticed
I invite you to try,
you may cause a commotion
In the hearts of your friends,
your family, your peers,
The emotion in pictures may reduce them to tears
So don’t give up hope,
Your thoughts matter too,
and what better way to show it,
but from your point of view

It started with an English assignment to write a poem about something you care about. I'm very passionate about videotaping and photographing whatever makes me happy and I enjoy sharing what I find and create with other people. This peom shows why I believe a camera is such a powerful tool and how it can be used to find purpose or a voice.
