Ashamed
A word
Indifference
everyone claims to be it
they claim to be
different
You’re the one who claimed to be different
But still, when difference is shown
you sprint the other way
As if being different is a cancer and there is no cure
Ashamed
You say, “Being different is a good thing.”
But when you see the difference in me
you shrink down to hypocrisy
Ashamed
you should know that you’re different too
you should know that you’re the same as me
we’re one in the same
so why are you ashamed?
If you were to hear,
“Stay away. They’re different.”
You’d want to escape your indifferences too
Ashamed
My definition of beauty is the glittery snow
while yours is eternal sunshine
I accept your definition of beauty
why don’t you accept mine?
Ashamed
I yell why should I be ashamed of myself
when you’re ashamed to be yourself?
Does it feel good to be ashamed of your own skin?
I don’t get that concept
do you?
Let your flaws shine through
We’re one in the same
little do you know that your indifferences
are mine too.
