It started in the year of 2044

when overpopulation came crawling to the door,
Central America was in great distress
so a meeting was held to discuss this mess,
Vital and essential resources they were lacking
compared to North America they were slacking,
At this assembly, all Central countries became united
at this assembly, all Central countries became delighted,
No longer separate but now together
they could withstand the toughest of weather,
Thus this was the greatest of all creations
the formation of the Central United Nations.

The leader of this movement was a man by the name of Sir Algo
he said, ”We declare invasion of North America to plunder its precious cargo,”
With combined forces of each Central American country
their new military would halt any foe abruptly,
Now North America had no idea of the new found nation
and had no clue of this new found dedication,
North America’s military was weak to the core
due to years of peace and lack of war,
Within a few more months by the year of 2045
The Centrals invade North American’s fruitful hive,
It started with Texas then Oklahoma
until all Americans were dazed in a coma.

Soon the Centrals reached the town of Pueblo, Colorado
they leaned over the city with their petrifying shadow,
All were fearful except for one man
all surrendered except for Carlos Santan,
He gathered a group to sneak away
they scampered and snuck the entire day,
The Centrals noticed people weren’t at bay
causing the soldiers to experience disarray,
For if Algo knew of the people they lost 
he’d say, ”To your deathbed thy souls will be tossed!”

Now Carlos Santan spoke, ”We need a safe haven,”
yet the fruitful and lush land was all taken,
He said, ”The only option is the barren desert,”
but much energy they would have to assert,
This group consisted of many types of man;
Esteban, Beth, Rory, and Ann,
First there were Beth and Rory
their intellect was quite the story,
Then Carlos and Esteban, they were the strongest
but Ann was slow, for her life was the longest,
Although Ann to the group was like climbing with defective gear
others had problems, others had fear,
Likewise Carlos exclaimed, ”My fear is that of death,”
this was the same for sophisticated Beth.

A desert home, they needed to find in a hurry
for Central were pouring at them like snow in a flurry,
At last they stumbled upon the perfect sector
there was water, creatures, cover; all imperative nectar.

Under this rocky ledge
a paradise was wedged,
Hidden from the hot sun vapors
hidden from the invaders,
Here Carlos and his group would settle
growing plants and taming cattle,
Tucked away in a fortress of freedom
a place where Centrals can’t mistreat em’.

Now not all necessities were provided
so pillages and supply runs were divided,
Esteban said, ”We must be rapid yet discrete,”
but that was hard on old Ann’s feet,
So Ann was slow and eventually caught
That’s everyone who escaped, so the Centrals thought,
Yet making supply runs right under their nose
was Carlos, Esteban, Beth, and Rory each time they arose,
Their desert sector was eventually stocked
with food, water, and guns ready and c***ed.

Now Rory said, ”We need lookouts in our enclosure,”
Beth said, “Now we can prevent complete exposure!”,
Carlos Santan fluttered his head in accord
he said, ”We are capable to defend against any Central warlord.”

One day a Central soldier was walking by
and this safe haven fortress just caught his eye,
As he grew closer to its sturdy rock walls
he failed to see the gun with oncoming round balls,
His reaction was rather slow
his helmet couldn’t deflect the blow,
The first step to Carlos’s freedom and expansion of land
was the cold, lifeless body absorbed in the hot desert sand,
When this soldier did not return to his camp
a search party was sent till their bodies began to cramp,
Unable to find the body, they knew something was wrong
they knew there were more survivors, they’d search headstrong,
After a few lengthy months have passed
and the soldiers could not handle the frequent sandblast,
The once fervent search dwindled
yet one general’s hopes still kindled,
Eventually the safe haven he found
but like the dead soldier’s fate he was bound,
However this time, Carlos and Esteban
well they snuck up behind and clamped on,
This general was made their captive
and stirred Algo and the Centrals active,
Aggravated, provoked, and antagonized
to capture this group, a plan is devised,
Sir Algo said, ”We must scour the desert by using a grid,”
the Centrals spread across the desert, the safe haven fully amid,
Carlos stood stagnant, his mind was dormant
he needed a plan and Rory stepped up as an informant,
Rory said, ”This general we shall exchange for freedom and land,”
all agreed with the plan at hand,
Beth got to work to make a flag of peace
so all physical infliction would then cease,
Carlos Santan and his group exited their fortress
with the general as prisoner who was looking amorphous,
Sir Algo spoke up, ”What deal will you provide?”
and Carlos says, ”In exchange for your general, more land we will preside,”
Uneasy with this request but seeing the general’s desperate face
the plan which Carlos stated, Sir Algo embraced.

Now Alberto asked, ”What quantity of land are you seeking?”
in a tone that can be described as stubborn speaking,
After consulting with the group, Carlos proclaimed,
“We want Colorado and its neighboring states, that’s our aim!”
Alberto asked, “So you want Colorado, Utah, Arizona, and Wyoming?”
“Yes,” Carlos Santan said, ”then rest of America, you can be roaming.”

So on January 1st of 2046
a treaty was signed on the politics,
It divided up the land between Carlos’s group and the Centrals
it forbids conflict and lists its mutual fundamentals.

From this day henceforth and ahead
Middle and North America, the Centrals presence will embed,
But the states of Colorado, Arizona, Wyoming, and Utah
Carlos Santan will control with his new rule of law.
