Christmas Morning
Christmas Morning
I behold small, large, and festively wrapped presents stacked tall under the Balsam Fir
I feel excited and impatient to unwrap my new and long-desired gifts
I’m anxious to see if I received everything that I wanted
I ask my mom if we can open presents already
She responds, “Wait until 10:00,
by then we’ll be done with our annual family game of Scrabble”.
I was reluctant at first, but It was so fun:
Laughing, talking, playing, spelling.
Together.
We finish the game
and mom asks me to check the time.
I see that it’s 10:08.
Mom asks what time it is.
I say-
Time for another game.
