#JusticeFor__
#JusticeFor___
#JusticeForMyBrother
He was 19 with a million dreams
A dream to sing the oppression of his people
Dreams cut short when I heard that gun ring-BOOM
Dreams gone unrealized
Unrealized because he pulled the hood on his jacket over his head while walking home in the freezing weather
It was so cold
I'll never forget seeing his last breath appear and hang in the air with his dreams as my hero fell to his knees
#JusticeForMySister
She was 13 with a million dreams
A dream to right the pain by writing the pains of her people
Dreams cut short when I heard the news
She was a drive-by victim for wearing a shirt proclaiming that her people's lives mattered-BOOM, that horrible sound
Dreams gone unrealized
Unrealized because she dared to believe that her life was worth something
I'll never forget that blood-soaked shirt
#JusticeForMe
I’m 16 with a million dreams
A dream to save those who can’t save themselves
Dreams coming into focus when-STOMP, that groundbreaking sound was music to my ears
Dreams fully realized
Realized when I combined my brother’s lost lyrics and my sister’s lost stanzas with my unwavering persistence
You will not forget me

This piece was inspired by a poster that reads, "Justice For __ I left it blank because I'll probably need it next year.", my heavy heart for all of the unarmed victims of color killed by police and the fear of me or a loved one becoming the next hashtag. I hope people will understand that people of color are fed up with the frequent and ruthless killings and will not only protest but stand up and take civil action.
