Summer Adventures
Summer before senior year was one to never forget.
Spending many hours with family and friends.
From going to the beach,
To always getting sonic slushies.
Our nights often consisted of telling each other about our days
Or laughing till we couldn’t laugh any longer.
Couldn’t stand being in the hot, sticky car much longer,
But knowing I was going to be on the beach in a few short hours
With my friend and her family,
Made the exhausting car ride more exciting.
Within a week later,
I was on a loud plane headed back to the beach.
But this time to a beautiful resort in Mexico,
Where we got unlimited amounts of delicious ice cream and mouth watering food,
And always in the ocean getting taken out by the salty tasted waves.
Most nights were full of staying up past midnight,
Asking each other to tell funny stories,
Or helping each other get over rude, mean boys.
Jamming to loud pump up music late at night
With the windows rolled all the way down
And singing at the top of our lungs.
The crashing of the white waves,
The crunchy sand between my toes,
And the gross taste of ocean water on my tongue
Makes me feel like i’m in heaven.
Enjoying getting tan by the pool
And hanging with friends for four or five days in a row
Is what made my summer before senior year
One to never forget.
