“don’t fall slave to the serpent’s tongue”

How can you cry for me?

How can you care for me, a stranger?

That's all I am to you.

Yet, you care for me more than anyone could.

Is it pity?

Do you pity my frail body,

My balding head, and saddened eyes?

Is it because I'm trapped?

Trapped in all these medications?

I don't need your pity,

For I am a fighter.

How can I care for you?

A stranger?

That's all you are to me.

Yet, I shed my tears for you.

Not out of pity, but out of anger.

A fighter; that's what you are.

But you shouldn't have to be fighting.

How can I cry for you?

How can I care for you?

The answer is simple;

It is because we're both human.
