Forlorn Hope
Forlorn Hope
What’s left behind,
doesn’t just fade away,
this place I’ve come to find,
still wants to stay.
Men once gave this place care,
now it's been left to die,
as a skeleton in despair
trying to utter one last cry.
What man didn’t take,
sits stoic in store,
hoping that man would make
them shiny once more.
Sadly the future is bleak,
no one will speak
of reclaiming the land
they thought was bland.
Nature has awoken,
taking whatever is still open,
strangling it with green,
leaving little to be seen.
Still it lays in it’s den,
dreaming that what was...
may come again.
