Broken to be Rebound
The warm sun to our backs,
The hot pavement under our feet.
The summer of twenty fourteen
Will never be beat.
“You guys look so alike!”
And we truly did.
However our thought process, laughs, and
Daily tasks slowly merged together
As we became inseparable.
Endless laughs, constant joy, and spontaneous adventures.
Through thick and thin
Our friend group sprouted and grew as a garden
Friends came and went like seasons.
No matter what we’d done, drama would still occur.
Endless arguments, tension, and constant rumors.
We didn’t realise all of this was prepping us for the near future.
Through months of slim communication
There we were. At the sidelines of all the drama
Always trying to reach out to the other
But never fully getting the chance.
Through brutal fights and tears shed
We always found the light at the end of the tunnel.
Always knew she’d be my shoulder to cry
Or a slap in the face when i was being ridiculous.
Constant stress, fighting and jealous friends
Unfortunately pulled us apart at one point.
However there’s nothing in the world
To fully ever separate our bond.
The summer of twenty fourteen
Helped us grow into the positive young adults
That now face the world together.
Negativity isn’t able to squeeze into our complex lives.
We’ve now got each other to help keep our heads above
The constant crashing waves of negativity.
