Baseball
The dog days of summer
Hottest time of the year
But only one sport is on top
It’s the sport where you don't wear pads
Where stealing is encouraged
Where balls are thrown at 95 mph
And try not to hit a batter 60 feet 6 inches away
The sound of the glove pop
The crack that echos through the stadium
And the whistle the ball makes when it get whips around
A game where failure is all around
A game where if you hit a ball 3 out 10 time you are considered a star
Where gloves are gold
And bats are silver.
Baseball is the true American pastime.
