Waves
Ignorance is bliss isn’t a saying I always understood.
Isn’t knowledge power?
And that’s why children are so innocent.
Not everyone is bright and shiny
And I soon discover why so many seem to be forever trapped under clouds.
Some people make mistakes
Others are thought to be mistakes.
Love is powerful and true.
Truth is pain
And once you know the truth you can’t go back.
You can’t escape or rewind time.
The waves of emotions are constant
Until it becomes too great
Too powerful.
There comes a day you learn that you can’t make it stop.
I need to be brave and strong and mature.
Because she chose not to settle
And he chose to not fight it.
Not knowing and still knowing too much.
It’s like you’re screaming and no one can hear you.
Those are the worst waves
And I can’t ignore them.
Suddenly it’s over and I think I’ll be ready.
If I can get through this one I can get through the next one.
Change is essential for growth, I suppose.
