The Imagery of an Escapist
We're just another
fiction being written
Illusive faces, sketchy eyes
and lucid dreams
Dim city lights, eyes wide
A fabrication in mind, a made-up story
An idea, a visual depiction
A novel, the world is yet to be read
The what ifs andwhats not that lies ahead
This is ours, shape it or someone else will
Don't move, I tell you, stand still
You flew close to the sun
No one stopped you, I asked you to run
You pick up the pieces, I save all the
chances you have missed
When I met you I was in a total bliss
There is no measure for my euphoria
Unfolding out of the corner of my eye,
the glint of my cornea
Your sweet talks, your greatest spear
Go ahead and fool me, my dear
I could not speak of you
A language immersed in dew
It's fading, I'm losing you
Why didn't you tell me that the
foundation you taught to stand on
was made from quicksand?
and was never from your hand
Blink hard, think twice
Forget about the things we compromise
Blinded sight and colored eyes
Open the book and write me down
It's gonna be sad but no, don't frown
It doesn't matter whether I'm in
the middle or on the back
Allow me to fill what you lack
We turned more pages,
both searching for a clearer picture
Hunting for more blank spots
We live in deceptive times,
having our twisted rhymes
Morphing our fantasies,
a fairytale that I can't resist
We belong here,
so tonight I drank my fears
and swallowed my tears
The night is dark but our bodies glow
The flame is bursting inside our thirsty souls
Fragments of memories
The sky bleed off a myriad of colors
as the sun set behind the horizon,
drenched in sweet crimson
Thoughts are blurring, birds are calling
Are you alright?
I have to be, don't I?
My prince, my Romeo
Where art thou?
"Oh rapunzel, let down your hair"
You've found me lurking
in my lair, my throne
Locked up in this prisoned door
Golder hair and skinny laces
They're not real, I no longer myself
This mouth which was once put into seal
These wounds, they start to heal
Dreamlike state, arrangement of fate
A change of pace, this isn't a race
Don't move fast cause we're
about to make it last
Take a pause and let's take it real slow
Hold me tight, I say, never let me go
