Beauty
All we want in life is to fit in,
not to feel uncomfortable in our own skin.
We want to be liked by all,
so we give up all we are just to take a fall.
We slather on our make up
and put alcohol in our cups.
We starve ourselves to be really thin,
and feel the need to show all our skin.
We look up to those who only make us feel worse,
merely because we don't have the latest purse.
If you don't act like them, you're an outcast,
destined to always be picked last.
But if we took a minute to actually look,
we would see the beauty of the girl with her nose in a book.
Her beauty shines out of her like the sun's early rays,
but her frown is as long as a bitter winter day.
Beauty is the girl with mascara running down her face.
Beauty is the boy known as a charity case.
Beauty is the girl who stands stronger because she's been knocked down.
Beauty is the boy who only seems to frown.
Beauty is the girl you knocked over in the hallway.
Beauty is that boy you tease all day.
Beauty is the girl who feels like she needs to break the law.
How can you say we're ugly, when you know nothing of beauty at all?
