Let me use some references and allusions
Like a lyrical Houdini I’m creating illusions
Blank verse has no rhyme scheme but has meter
It’s what Shakespeare uses in all his theatres
Poetry is chatty don’t mind the connotation
Look at the exact meaning that’s the denotation
Poetry will kill you or make you pass away
Sorry for the euphemism I’d rather say it in a pleasant way
Free verse is where pattern is irregular
Don’t mind the rhythm I don’t have an editor
Am I like a god or is this a hyperbole?
Lets just picture it by using simple imagery
Although I’m the boss somehow they fired me
This situation is strange but a good example of irony
Poetry is more that just okay write that down in your notes
Oh wait that’s a deliberate understatement or a litotes
Poetry is a lion with a powerful roar
See what I did there that’s a metaphor
Bam boom buzz and I’m gone, see ya
All those funny sounds I said that’s onomatopoeia
This poem is about to end you better hold on
Don’t say its awfully good or you’re an oxymoron
Poetry is fun, try it when you go on vacation
If the sun waves hello, then that’s personification
Does anyone know how I can keep your attention?
Don’t answer that it’s a rhetorical question
Now I’m finished like a busy bee
The last device I’ll preach is a simile
