It swallows you up whole,

It consumes everything in it's path,

Darkness has no feelings, no mercy,

It does what it can to turn everything upside down.

An endless abyss that leads you nowhere.

A place where you are lost.

Your soul,

You humanity,

Maybe your life...

Will all be gone...

But at one point,

There can be light,

Shining down on you.

I see a girl, consumed in utter darkness.

A small, weak flame still flashing inside of her.

Wide eyes,

Frightened,

Alone,

There is still a chance for you.

I shine myself upon her,

Upon the darkness.

Illuminating her reflection,

Showing her the path of good will and happiness.

I hear a hiss from the devil himself,

Escaping from everyone around him,

Never to return again...

The girl stands there as if she was reborn,

The vibrant color of her skin returning as if she was under a spell that had just been broken,

The light brown hair shining under the flamming sun,

And the joy in her eyes that was once lost deep within the darkness.
