Pain
Endless silent suffering
Night after tearful night I still wonder what I could have done.
With every coming sunrise I can't help but to think about the last
I remember us and every moment of the past that we spent together.
Alas, that is the past.
It is time to move on
It's an absolute must for the good of both us
But why did it have to come to this?
What did I do to you
To deserve all you've put me through?
How did we let something so good go to waste
I am now so displaced.
I am a stranger to you
Lost in the sea of memories that you once knew.
I always felt it wasn't ever true
What does it matter now,
You have moved on and found new love.
While I sit here and rot
Reminiscing through all of the memories
Good nor bad anymore
They are nothing but numb
You have moved on
And I'm happy for your newfound attraction
But when I sit and think I am awash with emotions
Happiness being the only one absent.
I am thankful for everything you have done
It was a tremendous lesson learned
But next time
Don't light a fire
That you are just going to extinguish
Before it starts.
