Freedom Comes With a Cost
Freedom always comes with a cost.
War will come with loss following close behind it,
blood will be spilt and tears will be shed.
Fly-ridden corpses scatter the ground,
a foul stench fills the air.
Beautiful and persistent Lady Liberty,
holds the flag of the people high.
The ones who made it follow her,
happy and joyous, yet the victory is all to bitter,
and the loss is all too real.
The horrid stench will never leave you,
and the image of Death will always be in your mind.
Yet, that is the way of the world,
working for something so precious.
You can't wait for it to come to you,
earning it is the only way.
Everything comes with a cost.
