I am from
I am from homework, from cinnamon apple scented airwick, and Saturday soccer games.
I am from the small comfy home, kids all around, the sweet smell of cookies.
I am from the carnations sitting so beautifully on the table, in the middle of the kitchen.
I am from Christmas dinners, and 20 pies baked by Aunts; Sarah and Monique.
I am from the thought that family is everything, and that you can achieve anything through education and hard work.
From "stay positive, because life's too short to be negative" and "stay in school or else you'll be flipping signs on the corner for a living".
I am from saying prayers before dinner and bed, but no specific religion.
I am from California, and Wisconsin.
From oven fried chicken and gooey chocolate chip cookies.
From the five kids, loved so much from one single mother, and the adopted cousin, now loved as a brother.
I am from family pictures on the wall beige colored walls, out of proportion arguments resolved in less than 20 minutes, Los Angeles each summer, Drake playing in our stereos, and family barbecues.
