When you smile my world lights up

Like something I’ve never seen.
My butterflies grow obscene
To an amount I’ve never seen in my entire life
Something I couldn’t imagine
And thinking of you hugging me
With your hands wrapped tightly around my waist
Is enough to stop time and space for me.
I can’t breathe and I can’t even speak
Because I want it so bad.

The way you walk with confidence
Makes me forget why I’m not
Why I’m shy and cowardly
Your confidence radiates to everyone you see.

Your laugh is a simple melody
Playing through my head
At the worst times...

While I’m taking my science test
I’m imagining you laughing at the lunch table

While I’m talking to a friend
I’m imagining your laugh echoing down the halls

Looking into your eyes puts me into a daze
Because they’re beautiful and sweet
Like summer days
And they remind me of happiness and cheerful glee

They remind me of
Why I fell in love with you my dear
It reminds me of why I had the confidence with you

Thinking of your lips pressed against mine
Puts my heart at a stop
A halt
And I just can’t talk for a little bit

The way you say my name
Makes my butterflies grow
Makes my heart come to a halt
Makes my brain stop processing
Stop functioning
Makes my fingers grow cold and numb
It makes my toes tingle
And my knees weak

Writing this poem is making me smile and giggle
With a special type of glee

So there’s my confessions
The reason I’m in love with
A boy like you.
