Remember
I remember a time when everything stopped,
I remember it now.
You said go,
I said how far.
Slurred words and dotted edges.
Hands gripping and rubber ready to burn.
I remember a time when everything just left,
When my only ones couldn’t speak,
Too tired to think.
Sleep.
I remember when everything just turned,
Leaves fell,
Spirits followed,
To make room for the nothing to come.
I remember when I stopped,
Or didn’t,
You could say.
I sped past the corrective hexagon,
To the great,
Wide,
Red beyond.
I remember when everything cried,
Tears of gas runs to catch the stream,
Streams of blood running up, up and away.
I remember when everything ended,
Radio drowned,
Tires can’t float,
And neither could my heavy heart.
I remember when I died.
