Terrorist attacks on 9/11, Terrorist attacks in France
Protection against the extremists, protection against the FACTS
I am a Muslim, I’m Not a Terrorist
Do not use me as an excuse to hide your fear
I’m against every act of sin and evil
I hate all kinds of crime and detest what Hitler did to the Jews
How can I be a terrorist when I’m against all forms of injustice
So why claim you’re protecting people against me
I’m against self harm
I’m against racism
I’m against suicide bombings
I’m against sexism
So why claim you’re protecting people against me
I’m afraid to walk in the streets wearing my headscarf
I’m afraid to pray and worship my God
My God that does not believe in oppression
What happened to an accepting population
Terrorizing and vandalizing is NOT Islam’s heritage
Obsessed you are with your TV
Believing the twisted news that gives you no grain of truth
Corrupted by these silly and ridicule of things
Do you still think I'm a terrorist?
In seclusion reflect over the word terrorist
And then profoundly realize
That I am NOT a terrorist

When I began sharing and presenting my poem to people I recieved a similar response, "Damn, that was deep." People fail to percieve the idea that this was created with the sole purpose of exhibiting the typical profiling that most Muslims must endure. I am a Muslim, and extremely proud to be one. Several people don't comprehend why I could ever love a religion with such "despicable morals" taught. That is an immensely false statement where people tend to distinguish a group of 1.6 million people as the ones at fault. Ultimately, it is the individuals held liable for the atrocities, and unfortunately the stereotypes that circulate condemn a mass population.
