Rollercoaster
Ever since I was a little girl
I was told that “life is a rollercoaster”
I never understood what that meant
Until I was on my very own ride
Going round and round through loopholes
Banging my hip on every corner I turned
Feeling my heart rate accelerate by the second
And even losing grip of the bars in front of me
I try nailing my feet to the ground
Try stilling my body to the best of my ability
But, the ride
So dangerous and so fast
I am unable to hold myself on
I am sliding on every corner
Bruising every part of my body
Yelling and screaming
Hoping for the horrible turbulence to end

Life is a rollercoaster. You will go through obstacles that you feel as if you cannot get by, but you must never give up. What inspired me to write this piece was the horrible experiences that I've went through in my 17 years of living. I've feared for so long and what's the best to compare life with? A rollercoaster. It has it's ups and downs, but when the ride is over? You get this huge relief.
Don't ever give up.
