The Love of the Game
Smell of fresh cut grass in the air,
Rain or shine, no one really cares.
On deck, it’s about to go down
We’ll see who can take home the crown
Up one, two, three, four!
But the other team ties the score.
Bottom of the ninth, one out left,
No one is going to give up yet.
Strike one, strike two.
Crack, crack, crack, whoo!
Echoing in the air
Hands fly up, what joy we all share
Never did we think we would get this far
Every other team will be forever scarred
Joy, intensity, and heartbreak is what we give.
The love of the game is why we live.
