Here I am,
A scribble slashed
Just to revive
A dried out pen,
Envious of chess pieces
Sacrificed for a reason.

For hours
I stare at you,
Secretly
But I cannot comprehend you.
You are
A multiple choice question
Without any options.

And a welcome mat,
In front of a knob-less door.
You have turned me purposeless
Like a rain dancer
Swinging and swaying
During a hurricane.

When I ask you
For something eternal,
I become like a fool
Who likes to have
Staring contests
In front of a mirror.
All you have for me
Is a song to be heard
While holding a
Dodgy earphone jack.

Your smiling lips,
Weary from kisses,
Are a blade
That pretends to be a palm
And rubs against my neck
Softly.
