Hopes

Gold as the beach
Yet high out of reach,
The kingdom lies
Locked within the skies.
Every soul will go,
Why? We'll never know.
All answers have been lost
And all at a high cost.

When days turn cold,
As the starts have fortold
And the world is filled with fear,
We'll find that kingdom near.
Though not for long,
We'll hear it's song
Before it fades away
But not before we hear it say:

Let peace be upon you
Let only light shine through.
When hope is forgot,
Recall it is not
And journey on
To the next dawn.

The author's comments:

I've been dealing with soem rough things lately and writing this poem allowed me to let out some of my emotions and remember what some have said to me in the past. I hope that this will allow for anyone going through rough times to know they're not alone and hear what they need to hear.
