Status Quo
I am baffled like this is some great puzzle.
I wish it was subtle.
The pieces won't fit in place
A game of hit and misplaced
Pictures blur and come together
The words slur and scatter
A storm of fire and water
A warning of dire disaster
I can't take the pressure
A weight heavy to ensure my blight
Isn't there any light?
Where do I go? What do I do?
Lost in the phrase I can't find my place
I don't want to see any empty space
My heart rings out with frustration and an overwhelming need for compensation
To try and calm my situation, but everything is misinformation.
Words weapons,
Sentences Swords,
Phrases plight,
Everything is used as a means of spite
Lies whispered and rumors rewritten
I can't tell the beginning from the end
Parts are played
Associations assessed
Cliques clash
Status quo is nothing for you
It frustrates, belittles and flusters me all day and the whole night through
It will always remain the same
Views don't change
Even when you take time to rearrange.
I am stuck staying the same
Out of luck and forced to play an unruly game.
The status quo will not go
Until someone decides it should be gone
It should start with me and you
No one needs to be alone.
The status quo leaves us alone
It makes us conform to the rules of society
A debate of variety
The status quo really is going to go
But in the morning it never comes to anymore.
