White
I stand in white.
White t-shirt,
Off white shorts,
Dirty white shoes.
Everywhere around me
Are white mobile homes.
The gravel,
Also, a shade of white.
Everything is white,
Except me.
My hair is dark brown.
My skin a dusky tan.
I stand out,
Amongst the white.
I can’t do anything.
The sky represents
Me.
Gloomy.
Dull.
Not white.
White is all
I want to be.
All I
Need
To be to fit in.

I was inspired to write this poem from looking at a picture. This picture was of a dark skinned boy standing in white clothing in front of white mobile homes.
