Cuckoo
My worst enemy is the cuckoo,
Sitting above where we dine,
A bird of of scolding he is,
But no one else seems to mind.
He screeches when I’m late to dinner,
He screams at me as I rush,
But his favorite time is after hours,
When he is my ultimate judge.
He yells when an hour passes,
Asking to check my work,
And when he sees I’ve barely started,
He gives an ugly smirk.
I try to ignore his hoots and hollers,
But it proves to be no use,
As my reddened face deceives me,
His evil eyes see right through.
