Lie

Since I lied
I went to jail
Cried all night
In an empty cell

Although it was a day
Being locked away
It still left a hole in my soul

Now I’m stuck in a hole
And nobody cares
Because I spent my life
Spinning a web full of lies

To this day I said so many lies
That eventually I became
A cocoon of lies

But eventually the cocoon full of lies cracked
And a new butterfly came out
And fully reborn
The butterfly began to fly

This is the first poem I have ever written and I want the readers to know that lying doesn't define you. Your actions are what defines you.
