I'll Be Fine
18.Your eyes were so dark.
Almost an inky black liquid painted mysterious with spite.
They were haunting and cruel and painful to look at.
I used to trust those eyes.
I used to confide in them.
But it's different now.
Your eyes are not the ones that follow me in my nightmares.
Your eyes are now the ones that continue to torture me;
Icy pupils cutting through my skin,
Through my heart slash by slash.
But that’s okay.
At least,
I hope it's okay.
I'm fine
I'm fine.
I'll be fine.

My friend inspired me to write this poem. She recently broke up with her boyfriend and has been cutting herself.
